Ella attended her first baseball game! The whole family (Oma, Papa, Mama, Dada, Ella, Aunt B, and Marty) met up for a Sacramento Rivercats vs. the Bees (Salt Lake City?) game. It was a blasty blast! Here are the highlights:
-Ella is in love with the Rivercats mascot, Dinger. She spotted him in the stands (from quite a distance) and immediately tried to make her way over to him. Since she kept trying to get away from us and climb the bleachers over to him, daddy took her over to meet "Dinga" face-to-face. At the last moment when Dinger came over to give Daddy a high-five, Ella suddenly became shy and snuggled up to Mitch. Once Dinger walked away, Ella kept saying "moe Dinga moe Dinga" (translation: more Dinger, more Dinger). So, Mitch being the terrific daddy that he is, spent a good 20-30 minutes following Dinger around the stadium. When he and Ella arrived back to our seats, daddy was a red, hot, sweaty mess. It was a workout! However, it was well worth it. Ella was delighted. She still remembers Dinger and starts talking very excitedly in her half baby babble, half English whenever we mention him.
-Tonight was Oma's night. Ella only wanted Oma, saying "no mama and no dada" while reaching out for Oma. Oma was jubilant. Papa was sad. His reign as favorite might be over (for now anyhow; Ella is a fickle pickle).
-Ella is not a fan of hot dogs which was too bad considering it was $1 hot dog night. She did however love Marty's caramel corn which he generously shared with the family.
It was a lot of fun! We'll have to do this again next year. Thank you to Oma and Papa for the tickets and treats.

Ella's first Baseball Game with Papa, Oma, Aunt B., Marty, mama &, daddy looks so fun! Ella is one lucky girl!
